LUC nearing 2010 opening date

Submitted by Julien Perry on Tuesday, December 15th, 07:43pm

LUC, the new casual French Bistro from chef Thierry Rautureau of Rover's, is getting closer to reaching its February 2010 opening goal.

In a newsletter today, Thierry writes that LUC is in phase two:

"Phase II means that we have submitted the plan to the city building department for permit. A bit of demolition has started and the windows are now covered with Luc’s logo for construction time. If you drive by and have a minute for comment I would love to hear your feedback on the look of the logo on the windows (in black & white for now)."

Theirry is raising money for his new restaurant by pre-selling gift-certificates which can be used at both of his restaurants. You can find  more information here.

Rover's to open casual bistro

Submitted by Julien Perry on Friday, August 28th, 03:41pm

The Chef in the Hat (aka Thierry Rautureau) is going casual, opening a French bistro next door to his beloved Rover's restaurant in Madison Park.

Thierry describes the new place as part kitchen, part bar and part food-to-go; a place where you can order burgers or bourguignon, souffles or soup, harissa or ketchup (you get the idea), seven nights a week.

LUC, named after his late father, is scheduled to open February 2010.
